When things aren't what they seem

When you are young life is a fantastic jumble, if you will, of truths and make believe.  There are dragons lurking behind your door and your pretty sure your little brother has a tail.  Reality and fantasy blend together.  As you grow older you have to accept the fact that life is not so colorful and you are forced to be a bit more practical.  Bare with me, I'm going a few places with this.

When the wonderful world of Ren Faires was introduced to me a whole new life was born inside me.  And on so many levels.  My inner child was set free I was once again allowed to dream and in the company of people who had similar dreams as I.  So not only has the Ren World given me a new percpective on life, it has given me a group of amazing friends.  People I would not have found otherwise.  Real people, loving, caring, amazing people.  I could try and name you all and would be here all day, some of you are closer to me than others, and you know who you are, because I can hardly go a day or a week without chatting with you.  So to you all I have to say Thank You!!!  Thank you for being part of one of the most magical things in my life (right after my husband, kids and family).

I guess that this bond I have with my Rennie Family is what makes it so hard when I realize some people aren't what they seem.  That some people have to tip toe around and pretend to be what they are not.  Or feel that Faire is a place to start rumors or hatered.  I can honestly say I don't hate any Rennie.  I'd like to keep it that way.  I know this is a stretch for some people. But the faire is a place where alot of us go to release, to relax, to find strength and comfort in our friends.  If ever you feel the need to make it a place that's anything other than that, I ask that you don't.  Stay home if you need to that day.  But please do not bring your hatred and discontent into our happy home away from reality.  Sure not all people get along.  That is human nature, in the real world or the ren world.  But for the sake of harmony in a place that makes so many people happy, just let it go.

Thanks for the invite but I can't come. :( My step-Grandmother's 80th party is also Saturday. But I wish you a very happy birthday and I hope it's AWESOME!! :D *sends confetti and cake*

Eh, I'm all right. Just got over a bad cold and am getting over infected lymph glands. Yay? :P This weather is just messing with everyone's immune systems or something. It's ridiculous

I'm actually doing better about the opening weekend thing. Mom said that his services are Friday night and his party is a luncheon on Saturday so I might be able to bribe a cousin to drive me to the airport in Albany that afternoon. I would still miss the first day, but that's all I can pull off. Crossing the crossables that I can make that Saturday flight and make festival on Sunday! :)
